THE EGGS (Express Golf & Gambling Society) held their second society day, this time at Burgh Hill Valley, and another superb day was had by all.
Fine weather and a course in mint condition ensured some good golf would be needed to take the trophy kindly sponsored by Tony Hunaban
Steve Gill took third place with 34 points but was pipped by Steve Philpotts and Phil Birch both on 38 points, the latter winning on a count back. Colin Edwards hit a 'lucky' iron shot to sneak away with the trophy for nearest the pin and Robin Jackson hit a fantastic drive to deservedly win longest drive on the fifth.
Thanks go to Tony Hunaban for kindly sponsoring the day, everyone at Burgh Hill for a great day out and Gerry Deegan at the Express for the evening hospitality.
A reminder to all members that the next event, sponsored by InfoSigns, is Friday, September 13, at Belmont with a coach from the Express to be laid on, contact Phil for further details.
