WORLD champion Anna Bailey from Hanley Swan was the fastest women of the day at the Evesham Golden Mile indoor rowing challenge hosted by Evesham Rowing Club in aid of Sport Relief.
Anna, aged 51, who was representing the Evesham-based Old Wrecks, completed the one-mile distance in 5mins 41.3secs and also won the womens' challenge to row as far as possible in one minute, covering 324 metres.
Andrew Parker, 15, from Malvern, completed a very creditable 264 metres, it being the first time he had been on a rowing machine!
Anna is now awaiting the outcome of a national collation of times set on Sport Relief day to see if she will be the first holder of the world record for the new one-mile distance.
