A CARAVANNING couple who have been together for more than two decades finally decided to tie the knot in Bromyard.
John Cartwright and Vera Clarke chose the town for their special day after spending all their holidays in their static caravan, in Meadows Farm.
The couple, who have been together for 22 years, decided to become husband and wife when they heard there was a registrar who could marry them in their beloved Bromyard.
And on Saturday, July 20, the couple were finally wed at Bromyard Register Office in front of family and friends.
John, aged 64, first met Vera, 60, when he moved next door to her mother in Great Barr, Birmingham.
John, a toolsetter for an engineering company, then began to take her on holidays to Bromyard - a place he had enjoyed visiting as a child.
"I started to love Bromyard as much as John, especially the slower pace of life compared to life in the city and the friendlier people," said Vera, a lollipop lady from Birmingham.
Family and friends joined the happy couple for a three-course meal at The Royal Oak, before they left for honeymoon in Scotland.
"This will be the first time we have ever been anywhere other than Bromyard for a holiday," said Vera.
