MARK Shail's decision to prolong his career with an extra year at Worcester City has gone down well with captain Carl Heeley.

The duo formed a solid defensive partnership last season and though a veteran of many years, Heeley was more than happy to pick up a few tips from the former Bristol City and Kidderminster Harriers star.

"You get to a stage in your early 30s when most of the players you play alongside are younger than you," he said.

"But Mark has more experience at a higher level and he's been a big help to me.

"We had a long chat at the end of the season and I said I hoped he would come back and that we could start off the season where we left off."

Evesham United boss Phil Mullen expects to have a better idea of the shape of his squad for next season following this week's friendlies against Willenhall Town and Tamworth.

The Robins travel to Midland Alliance side Willenhall tonight (7.45) with a number of trialists on show and entertain Dr Martens Premier Division outfit Tamworth on Thursday.

"There are a number of players on trial at the moment but I'll have a clearer picture of what I am going to do signings wise after this week's two games," he said.
