WHAT a pity I did not know about Liz Lynne MEP's visit to Stoulton. I would have been able to show her that there are four footpaths crossing the so-called Millennium field, so public access will always remain irrespective of ownership.

It is somewhat ironic that it appears the memorial trees have been planted illegally on the public footpath.

The latest by-election pamphlet contains a photograph of a JCB in the field and poses the threat of county council waste tipping and builders waste, and development of a field that is in the floodplain.

All of this would be a gross breach of planning control, to say nothing about any restrictive covenants the council might wish to put on the land.
