WESTLANDS youngsters have kicked off the summer in style thanks to a holiday club.

The Westlands Holiday Club, which is in its eighth year, is being held at the Westlands First School, in Farmers Way.

Five to nine-year-olds have been enjoying the club, which is open from 10am-12noon and runs until Friday.

The scheme is being run by Churches Together in Droitwich Spa and although there have been aspects of Christian teaching throughout the week, such as short bible stories, the main aim is to provide a fun-packed week for the youngsters.

Sue Poyer, the group's secretary, said: "There have been plenty of games, crafts and other activities to keep them occupied.

"Although religion has been touched upon throughout the week, it certainly wasn't the main aim, which was to provide them with a safe place to enjoy their first week of the holidays," added Sue.
