Hereford-based Bravo Trust, the pioneering anti-bullying charity, has teamed up with the Crucial Crew initiative.

The organisation provides advice to children on a range of topical issues and the two groups held a series of workshops for schoolchildren, educating and informing them about bullying and its devastating effects.

Last month Jim Ryan, executive officer of the Bravo Trust, visited 33 schools throughout Herefordshire to attend the workshops, aimed at children aged 10-11. Each child was given information about bullying, a Bravo Trust badge and the contact details of the Trust.

"It was incredibly worthwhile to be invited to attend Crucial Crew's programme in the Hereford area as our primary objective is to get into schools and raise awareness of all aspects of bullying," said Mr Ryan.

"As a result, the Bravo Trust has reached an incredible 1,130 children in the Hereford area alone, making each child aware of the work of the Trust and the issue of bullying. Our next objective is to become involved in similar campaigns and programmes throughout the region."

The Bravo Trust is a newly-formed charity and its survival is dependent on donations. Anyone who would like to support it can send donations to the Bravo Trust, Lugwardine Court, Lugwardine, Hereford HR1 4AE.
