LEGS 11 rider Kelvin Reilly will be mixing it with the big boys at Brands Hatch at the weekend in his first race after going over the handlebars at Rockingham.

The Wimbledon rider will be back on the bike for his Redditch-based team after surgery to both hands following his dismount a month ago.

He has won his second wild card outing of the season in the prestigious World Superstocks Championship.

Reilly qualified as one of the top five under 23 riders in the country and says he wants a top ten finish.

Brands is the British leg of the World Series and will be the second English venue this year after the European round, an extra race which changes countries every year, was held at Silverstone.

The Legs 11 lead rider came in 18th at Silverstone but says he wants a top ten performance at the higher level.

The 22 year old ace came off his bike on a 100mph straight in his last round of the British Championship after colliding with rival Phil Giles.

He skinned his left hand to the knuckle and severed tendons in his right after gashing his little finger.

"My fingers hurt and braking is still a problem," he added, "if anyone in front of me stops I'll probably hit them."

But he was back in the saddle last week and came through testing at Mallory and team manager Dave Worthington was more down to earth in his predictions.

"Eighteenth at Silverstone was much more than we hoped for," he said, "Kelvin is competing against the best in Europe.

"I don't know if we can hope for the same again but a top 20 finish would be fantastic.

"The exposure for a small team like us is great, the event is an all ticket 120,000 sell-out and sponsorship should be easier to find.

"But we are competing against teams with million pound budgets whereas our annual outlay is around £75,000."

Legs backup rider Rhys Boyd is targeting the next round of the British Championship for a return after surgery on a long-term back problem.
