REDDITCH police have hailed a crime prevention initiative a success after 80 vehicles had their windows etched at the town branch of Sainsbury's.
Motorists were invited to visit the car park to have their registration number etched on their windows free of charge thanks to Autoglass.
Officers from the Community Safety Team were also on hand to give general advice on the prevention of vehicle crime.
The introduction of the Community Safety Team, which is dedicated to reducing and detecting vehicle crime, has seen the detection rate soar from 10.64 per cent in April to 42.13 per cent in June.
The target for the division is 12 per cent.
