RESIDENTS have been given the chance to submit a wishlist for neighbourhood improve- ments.

Public transport, recycling, beat police and easier access to Redditch skate park were some of the issues they raised.

People attending summer events in Lakeside, Matchborough and Batchley were given the chance to take part in Redditch Partnership's 20:20 Vision campaign as part of the planning process for a community strategy to take the town to 2020.

They also called for more young people's activities closer to home, traffic calming measures and greater enforcement of dog fouling laws.

Other issues were crime, vandalism, litter, open spaces, shopping areas, parking, CCTV and housing developments.

Residents praised Redditch Council for the Arrow Valley Countryside Centre and said neighbourhoods were generally friendly places to live.

The views on the town and its future development were gathered by a number of methods.

Residents were asked to identify likes and dislikes by placing flags on a map, filling in questionnaires and writing on a graffiti board.

Council and partner agency staff collected more than 120 questionnaires, including 35 from young people, at fetes at Woodfield Middle School, Arrowvale High School and the Cool by the Pool event in Batchley.
