YOUNG striker Matt Lewis could make an unexpected appearance for Kidderminster Harriers in tonight's pre-season friendly against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Aggborough (7.45).

Boss Ian Britton may recall the talented 18-year-old from his current trial with Aston Villa to play in the match which is likely to attract a crowd of around 3,000.

Lewis, however, will continue to train with Villa until the end of the week.

Harriers will be checking on a number of players who have picked up niggling injuries during their pre-season build-up which has included matches against Stratford Town, Evesham United, Reading and Solihull Borough.

Bo Henriksen has a thigh injury which he sustained in their 4-2 home defeat against Reading while Ian Foster has sore shins.

Daire Doyle has a slight ankle problem with Lee Ayres, Adie Smith and Abdou Sall all feeling the strains of a hectic 'warm-up' programme.

Britton has yet to finalise his squad, but is likely to ring the changes during the match in which Harriers will be aiming to improve on their display which led to a 4-3 defeat at Solihull on Sunday.

Following tonight's clash Harriers face two more friendlies - away to Worcester City on Saturday and at home to Cheltenham Town next Wednesday - before launching their Nationwide League Division Three campaign against Lincoln City at Aggborough on Saturday, August 10.

Entrance to the terraces tonight will cost £10 (adults), £5 concessions and £2 (under 16s).

Admission to the seating area will be by ticket only. Seat admission prices are £13 (adults) and £9 (concessions).

Wolves are set to parade an all-star line-up which could include former Manchester United and Republic of Ireland defender Denis Irwin who moved to Molineux in a one-year deal yesterday.

Irwin left Old Trafford this summer after 12 successful years.

Meanwhile, former Harriers skipper Ian Clarkson has joined Nationwide Conference side Nuneaton Borough while Peter Faulds, who was released from Aggborough in the summer, is having a trial at Moor Green.
