A CLASSICAL guitarist who has won a clutch of awards is performing in Birmingham on Sunday.

Brian Perkins's accolades include the Memorial Trophy at Cheltenham in 1981 and a Recital Diploma from Birmingham Conservatoire in 1983.

His recordings include collaborations with British composer Peter Nuttall on an album of his most well-known works to date, Musica del Mundo, a compilation of guitar music from all over the world and an album with CBSO flautist Margaret Campbell.
