BROMSGROVE had to settle for a winning draw after outplaying Kidderminster for much of their Birmingham League Division One clash on Saturday.

Former Kidderminster player Nick Davies returned to haunt his old club with a half century (54) and three wickets but Bromsgrove were denied victory by staunch battling from late order batsmen Matt Fludgate and Andrew Siwicki.

The home side won the toss and batted first with Davies and Paul Duffy rattling up a 74 run partnership after Marc Derrick had removed opener Keyte.

Davies' innings ended after he was caught by Siwicki off Mandeep Singhs' bowling who then removed Liddel for just three runs to leave Bromsgrove on 110-3 after 37 overs.

With just nine overs left Kidderminster looked in a reasonabe position, but with wickets in hand Bromsgrove upped the tempo and they added 59 runs finishing on 208-6.

Singh was the pick of Kidderminster's bowlers with 3-87.

Kidderminster suffered a disastrous reply and by the 20th over were reduced to 58-5 with Mark Mansell and Steve Davies back in the pavilion with just 13 and four runs to their credit.

Davies was the chief tormentor with three of the wickets while skipper Nick Husbands grabbed the other two.

Fludgate (8 n/o) and Siwicki (12 n/o) denied Bromsgrove the win they probably felt they deserved as Kiderminster clung on at 107-8.

Bromsgrove took 12 points from the fixture, while Kidderminster had to settle for four points.
