we were fortunate enough to have the company of Helen Fox, from the Birmingham office of Christian Aid, who spoke eloquently and movingly about the work of Christian Aid, particularly pin-pointing Ghana, with many examples of help and encouragement given to new native business.
Our next guest was Mary Weir, mother of one of our parishioners Rosie Moss. As Mary is a very active member of the Mother's Union in this diocese, we heard several interesting stories about the fine work undertaken by Mother's Union members. Then followed Mary's main theme - the third age. This was a presentation of verse and prose, some humorous, some serious, reflecting the joys and sorrows of getting older.
