A TREASURED member of a Rubery club is jetting into the sun to retire in Spain.
Barbara Baylis flies to her new Mediterranean home in Denia this Friday and she will be saying a sad farewell to all her pals at Rubery Ladies' Club and the many villagers who know her friendly face.
Barbara has been treasurer for the women's group for the past 14 years and is handing the respected position over to Judy Young, of Romsley.
Regular visitors to Rubery Post Office, in New Road, may recognise Barbara, a married mum of three, who has worked behind the busy counter for many years.
Ladies' club chairman Wendy Webster, of Leasowe Road, said her friend has been a dedicated member of the organisation and will be missed by everyone.
"Barbara lived in Grange Crescent for around thirty years, worked at the village post office and played an important role in our club.
"We wish her all the best in Spain, Barbara and her husband Mike deserve a wonderful retirement."
