AROUND 500 pupils and staff from Rubery took part in a special sponsored trek, which raised hundreds of pounds for three worthy charities last week.
The fundraising event, which was held at Waseley Hills High School, in School Road, was organised in memory of French teacher Annette Davies, who died from cancer last summer.
The charity event, which managed to tot up a grand total of £1,400 for three charities - McMillan nurses, The Gateway Women's Refuge and Amnesty International - took place on Monday, July 15.
A school spokesperson said: "Some of the youngsters were sponsored to wear pyjamas and others paid £3 to wear non-uniform.
"Thankfully, the weather was kind to us and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves."
