THE razzmatazz of street theatre is coming to Bromsgrove next month with four jam-packed days of sheer entertainment.

Fantastic fun for all the family will be on offer, free of charge, to residents and visitors alike each Wednesday in August.

The popular events are organised annually by Bromsgrove District Council.

District councillor Brian Taylor, (Con - Alvechurch) who is the cabinet member responsible for leisure, said, "Each year more and more people enjoy Bromsgrove's street theatre and we hope this year will be no exception.

"Please come along and bring your family and friends to the Recreation Ground and enjoy the fun and frolics that make this summer time event so special."

There will be lots of class acts, from Heir of Insanity's new show based on the story of Atlantis and Skate Naked's breath-taking stunts, to a reappearance of Circo Rum Ba Ba's 50 foot long sperm whale and the Bash Street's new summer circus spectacular. There will also be a host of other activities, exhibitions and workshops.

Talented young artist, Matthew Lynch, aged 5, from Marlbrook, will have his award-winning design displayed on all the balloons and publicity material promoting the event.

Frances Johnson, the council's tourism and marketing manager, thanked dog owners for not allowing their pets to foul the Recreation Ground during the events last year and appealed to them again to be just as vigilant and keep up the good work all year round.

"Please abide by the poop scoop laws and use the dog waste bins provided," she added.

The funs starts at 10am on Wednesdays, August 7, 14, 21 and 28, with main performances at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm, finishing at 2.30pm.
