THOMAS HOLLIS, the club champion at Droitwich Golf Club, will be teeing off at the Celtic Manor Hotel Golf & Country Club in Monmouthshire on
Tuesday (July 30) in the Welsh Regional Final of the prestigious Golf World -Jameson Champion of Champions Tournament.
Thomas will be battling it out against 86 other club champions, mainly from Wales and the West, and will be aiming to finish in the top five and win a place in the national final to be held at Woodhall Spa, home of the English Golf Union, in Lincolnshire, on August 27/28.
Both Golf World Magazine and Jameson 'The Number One Irish Whiskey', with a long association with golf, are delighted to sponsor this event which presents a high profile individual competition to find the UK's best club golfer.
With the ten area finals being held on some of the most testing and demanding courses the winner of the tournament will most certainly deserve the title of champion of champions.
James Slack, Jameson UK marketing manager, said: "We were keen to get involved with amateur golf and support an event that gives the talented club golfer a chance to compete on the big stage. This event matches our criteria perfectly."
