A WORCESTER accountancy firm has welcomed proposed changes to pension schemes.
Doug Robshaw, personal tax partner at Rabjohns Business and Tax Advisers, in College Yard, said the changes were long overdue.
"The current system is far too complicated with so many different options to choose from and structures that many cannot understand," said Mr Robshaw.
The pensions review, published two weeks ago, suggests simplification of the legislation and types of pensions, and reducing running costs.
"It's no different to buying anything else. If people are to be encouraged to save for retirement, they need to understand what they are buying," added Mr Robshaw.
