BROMSGROVE Rovers must overcome one of the most formidable home records in the Midland Alliance to keep their title hopes bubbling.

Rovers travel to Barwell tomorrow (3pm) but have been buoyed by victory at Stourbridge on Tuesday, which has moved Rovers up to second place behind leaders Stratford Town.

Joint manager Gary Hackett knows his side face another huge task away from home if they are to overcome Barwell.

"It was a great win at Stourbridge and wonderful to go second but Barwell promises to be an equally tough game and they have only lost three games and have a formidable home record," he said.

"But we have a lot of confidence after Tuesday. We had to work very hard but as I said to the players Stourbridge can afford to lose this but we can't.

"We were determined and even when we went a goal down we played well and deserved the win with two cracking goals and still missed a penalty."

Hackett also praised Steve Taylor who has rejoined from Evesham United and made his debut against the Glassboys.

"He made a massive contribution and we are expecting great things from him. He's played at the top level and he's got great ability and enthusiasm and I'm delighted to have both him and Neil Cartwright, who scored a superb goal, on board."
