I WAS most interested in the article in News Wyre, which came with my Kidderminster Shuttle on July 11.

The article referred to the ongoing saga of lack of parking places in Kidderminster. and suggested motorists should park at Stadium Close and use the park-and-ride scheme.

I am a motorist and I find parking a great difficulty on many days in Kidderminster.

I too would like to use the park-and-ride scheme, like I can at Worcester. However, in Kidderminster I am prevented from doing this because it has no wheelchair access.

So I have to drive round and round Kidderminster to find a space.

I dread to think of the effect of the Pitts Lane car park closing.

There are two pages of 42 happy smiling faces of the councillors in Wyre Forest District Council's latest News Wyre magazine.

What have they got to smile about?

They all seem to be saying "Save our hospital", when they should be saying "Save our car parks".

I am an 85-year-old woman who looks forward to Thursdays when my daughter comes to take me to town in her car.

We used to park on the multi-storey car park by the library, then on the Pitts Lane open car park. Here we had to wait for someone to come back from shopping to get a space.

Now this has been denied us.

Why couldn't a new car park be built first, before building on the present ones?

To use the park-and-ride scheme from the Franche side of town is out of the question.

So it seems my Thursdays are looking bleak from now on, or we will have to try somewhere else.
