John Shepherd hit a fine 96 as the Fossils were held to a draw by Warwick Dons.
The Dons made 182-9, Alan Wootton leading the way with a very good 48.
Steve Lloyd (14) and Shepherd put on 37 in ten overs before Chris Stride (2-9 in seven overs) came on to slow the scoring. As Fossils wickets crashed at one end Shepherd played a great innings before he was out trying to go for the last few runs. Nick Boucher took 4-36 and Wootton 3-41 as Fossils held on at 171-9.
Dominies and Guild edged out the Fossils by one wicket with three balls to spare in an excellent game.
Fossils found runs hard to come by against a young Dominies attack. Shepherd hit 41 while Adam Uren made 22, Tony Chapman 15 and Dave Smith 34, and Kevin Gilbert struck 19 bold runs as Fossils declared on 162-5.
Dominies' Andy Ford (32) batted well before he became the first of Martin Mudway's victims (3-36).
Gerald Wadley (2-36) slowed the rate and Ted Bradshaw's left-armers took two wickets but Fossils' fielding was not quite up to the mark. A very good 35 from Matt Gammon almost took Dominies to victory, which was achieved with the last pair at the wicket.
