A UNIQUE disused corn mill in Caunsall is to be repaired and preserved as part of a scheme to convert it into a home.
Planning chief Mike Parker said Sleepy Mill is "clearly an important and unique part of local and regional industrial heritage" - and Wyre Forest district councillors have given the thumbs-up to the work.
The mill, which is next to a house also known as Sleepy Mill, will be converted and extended to form a two-bedroom residence.
Mr Parker said it is currently in "a poor state of repair" and is missing a roof and a large area of brickwork.
He recommended the council's planning (development control) committee approve the scheme, despite it going against green belt policy, as the Local Plan encourages conservation and enhancement of heritage buildings.
The plan will see the existing water wheel repaired and internal gears and mechanisms retained.
