BROMSGROVE Rovers threw away the chance to go top of the Midland Alliance as Jason Percival headed home an equaliser for Barwell deep into stoppage time.

Bromsgrove started off well, pushing Barwell back into their own half. Marvin Blake seized upon Kevin Banner's mis-hit shot but Matt Grears saved well, narrowing the angle. Grears kept the home side in the match with saves from Les Palmer and Grant Beckett deep into first half stoppage time.

After the break Mark Clifton headed just over from a pin point Beckett free kick.

Barwell started to put their game together, putting pressure on a well marshalled defence led by Skipper Morgan Brookes.

But Rovers appeared to have made a match-winning substitution, as within three minutes of his arrival on 75 minutes Sam Bowen had put Rovers into a well deserved lead. Following only the third corner of the match Steve Taylor's powerful goal bound header was turned into goal at the second attempt by Bowen.

Barwell went all out in search of an equaliser, Dave Lucas going close before Percival broke Rovers' hearts in stoppage time which had been mysteriously added.
