BROMSGROVE Rovers scored a late consolation goal through Richard Burgess, but the damage had already been done by visitors Shepshed Dynamo who had eased into a three goal lead before the home striker struck the net in Saturday's Dr Martens League Western Division game.

After several early chances for the visitors, Mark Benbow directed Jamie McWilliams cross straight to Shepshed 'keeper Dean Thomas before the visitors took the lead on 12 minutes, Lee McGlinchey found space inside the box and drilled a low shot across Nore Gabbidon inside the left hand post.

Michael McLarnon and McGlinchey wasted opportunities to extend the lead, whilst for the home team only Burgess was causing any problems on Bromsgrove's rare excursions upfield.

Thirteen minutes into the second half Jamie McWilliams conceeded a free kick on the edge of the area that was taken by Andy Commander. Rovers' defender Quentin Townsend only managed to slice a clearance as far as Ibrahim Bah who drilled a low shot, through a crowded goal area, into the net.

Jamie Turpin had a rare shot for Bromsgrove on 75 minutes, which went harmlessly wide.

Shepshed continued to dominate the play as the home team began to tire and made sure of the three points when Bah scored his second on 84 minutes latching onto Ashley Brown's low right wing cross to score from two yards.

The late goal for Rovers came too little, too late as Thomas failed to hold a shot at his near post and Burgess pounced.
