MORETON stay top of the second division after an 82-run home win over Badsey.

Put in to bat, Moreton struggled against the new ball but Williams (56) and Henshaw (38) worked hard for an opening stand of 106.

Four quick wickets saw Moreton struggling at 126-4 off 33 overs but a spirited revival by A Hurrell (24) and J Hurrell (50 n.o.) took them to maximum batting points with 216-5.

Badsey lost their first three wickets for 24 off 19 overs but late defiance by Andy Mabbett (24), Wayne Pearse (51 n.o.) and Tom Paul (21 n.o.) helped them to 134-7 and an extra two points.

Badsey were pipped by Amblecote and Woolaston in a high-scoring friendly at Ballards Park on Sunday.

Opener Dave Powell carried his bat for a superb 107 as Badsey raced to 233-6, including a third wicket stand of 125 in 18 overs with Peter Parker (52).

With Amblecote at 125-2 and 15 overs to go it looked a tall order but Bingham's unbeaten 89 helped them to victory with eight balls to spare.

Fourteen-year-old Lewis Clark scored his maiden centurn, 119n.o. and took 3-15 in Alcester and Ragley Park 2nd XI's nine-run win over Great Alne on Sunday. On Saturday he scored 45 in the four-wicket defeat at Kineton.
