BROMSGROVE Rovers chief executive Pat Bannister is confident he can complete his takeover of the club within the next three weeks.
His long-running battle to take over the majority shareholding of former chairman Stuart Arnold came to a head at a five-hour board meeting at which Arnold was present.
Bannister has made a fresh offer for his shares and will now negotiate with Arnold's solicitor as the former Victoria Ground chairman is out of the country for a month.
There are several problems still to be ironed out, one of which is the granting of a new lease for the ground to the club from Bromsgrove Council.
Bannister said: "Providing we can get confirmation of the lease I believe we can complete a deal, and I have written to Bromsgrove Council asking for confirmation.
"There were a lot of rumours going around that Stuart was trying to look for another buyer, but he confirmed at the board meeting that that is not the case," said Bannister.
"He is quite happy to continue, providing we can get the problems resolved."
