CHILDREN in a Worcestershire village are hoping for lots of sun to help them enjoy new play equipment this summer holiday.
The play area at Lower Broadheath's Vicarage Green has been officially opened after three years of planning.
The parish council began the project in 1999, when it removed the old equipment.
A committee was set up to plan a new play area and included various village groups.
Fund-raising by the Mother and Toddler Group, Lottery grants and financial support by Elisabeth the Chef helped the play area become a reality this summer.
It was completed in May with a variety of equipment, including a multi-activity climbing frame.
It was finally opened on Wednesday by Barbara Beard, chairman of Lower Broadheath Parish Council, parish council member Brian Barber, who spearheaded the project, and Angela Grant, of Elisabeth the Chef.
