Eastnor II v Malvern II
Eastnor defeated higher placed Malvern by five wickets with a much improved performance at home on Saturday.
Asking the visitors to bat, Eastnor were soon on top as Large produced an excellent opening spell taking 3-23.
With Entwistle taking a good catch off Phillips, Malvern were reduced to 33-4. Besgrove (32) and M Cox started a recovery until the former was well caught by Phillips off Hurrell with the score on 82.
Hooper (24) then supported Cox, until Cox was bowled by the returning Phillips, for 46 on 135. Entwistle, with two wickets, and Phillips, picking up two more victims, then cleared up the tail leaving Eastnor to chase 178 off 53 overs.
After losing Goodman early on, Bollen and Astbury (25) made a steady start against some accurate bowling from Mudway and M Cox.
The introduction of Besgrove saw Astbury bowled with the score on 86 and the same bowler soon picked up the wicket of Pat Locke.
Despite two wickets from Hooper the now free flowing Bollen, supported by Zabair (18) and Khalid (15 not out), saw Eastnor home with a well deserved century (104 not out) with almost six overs to spare.
