WORCESTER Nomads 1st XI are finally beginning to show some confidence in their abilities, but were frustrated by a heavy downpour which caused the match to be abandoned.

Feckenham batted first, and after 44 overs had only made 136-8, when the rain came.

Ian Jinks had once again taken much of the glory, bowling unchanged to return a superb 5-32 from 22 overs. Griffiths and Wooller had provided excellent support, and the fielding had been first class.

Two run outs as Feckenham sought to post a challenging total, both at the hands of Blake Raymond, highlighted the determination of the home side.

Worcester Nomads 2nd XI travelled to league leaders Feckenham seeking to continue their run of good form.

They proceeded to make light work of the match, winning in comfortable style.

Feckenham were invited to bat first, and lost Perry off the very first ball to Williams. Hicks (61) and Blundell (65) shared in a good stand but were unable to accumulate their runs quickly enough.

Steve Wilks in particular bowled well, returning an economical 1-32 from 13 overs.

Feckenham duly completed their innings with a score of 212-6 from their 50 over allocation.

In reply the Nomads openers looked in assured touch and gave not a single chance during a 139-run partnership, before Pearson was dismissed for 62. The run rate was always above that required, and Richard Lisle carried his form from the previous game forward, unbeaten on 25.

Honours however went to Chris Bland who duly completed his maiden century, unbeaten on 100. Lisle despatched the winning boundary, and Nomads wrapped the game up by nine wickets with nearly 10 overs to spare.

Rain intervened when the game between Nomads 3rd XI and Bewdley 3rds was interestingly poised.

Nomads, batting first after being put in, made 173-8 with Alex Isaacs scoring 55 and Iain Brown 28 but were pegged back after a good start.

Bewdley reached 55-1 when the rain came, Ken Girling taking the early wicket after a fine catch by Gary Sandbrook.

Nomads Sunday 1st XI played Abberley, who stepped in as replacement for Colwall who were involved in the Village Knockout.

Electing to bat first, Abberley had to contend with Darren Lakin's seamers, and after three overs he had taken 2-8. A switch to Tom Cullen yielded a further 2-35, while Gary Sandbrook weighed in with 2-23. Anton Madzarevic then wrapped up the proceedings with 3-5 with his penetrating off-breaks.

In reply Nomads knocked off the 104 required for four wickets, with Roger Dixon and Malcolm Jones contributing 28 and 26 respectively.

At Overbury the Sunday 2nd XI were given little opportunity to chase victory as the home side chose safety first.

Gillet with 104 top scored as Overbury made 251-3, declaring shortly after 5pm.

In reply, Akhtar looked in good touch before misjudging a delivery into the hands of mid-off for 21.

When Nomads worked themselves into a reasonable position, Overbury reverted to the pacy but wild Gillet, removing Sirrel and Pimlow. Dave Pearson batted throughout for his second half-century of the weekend with 78.
