A MODEL aircraft and boat show organised by a local publishing company at Eastnor Castle last weekend was a great success.
The Fun-Fest 2002 was staged by Traplet Publications, which produces books, magazines and videos for hobbyists and is based in Upton-upon-Severn.
The show attracted model buffs from across the country, who sailed radio-controlled boats on the lakes in the Deer Park, while model aircraft soared in the sky above.
The Worcester Model Car Club built an off-road race track and there was a special modellers' bring-and-buy, plus trade stands and a crafts marquee.
A steam fair attracted a variety of traction engines and other machines from bygone days.
Sunday saw two displays of medieval jousting from the Knights of Royal England, while hot-air balloons were on hand for unforgettable trips across the countryside.
"It's been a great success," said Julia Lawrence of Traplet Publications. "It's the first one we've held for a few years and the first we've held at Eastnor Castle.
"The only problem was that because of the weather, some of the hot-air balloon couldn't take off.
