ENJOY the tastes of Worcestershire is the message from the Three Choirs Jubilee Fringe Festival organisers as a regional event takes place in the heart of Worcester.

The Great Heart of England Food Festival was being opened today at Worcester Cathedral.

A wide selection of food and drink was available, plus a side-serving of brass band music.

It is being staged in the Cathedral cloisters and Chapter House today and tomorrow.

Another Fringe Festival attraction, is the Welland Steam and Country Rally, an internationally-renowned event, that was starting today and includes tractor-pulling, steam engines and an old-fashioned fair.

It takes place from 9.30am-7pm until Sunday. Admission costs adults £6, with children paying £4.

If neither of those events appeals, then people can listen to Synergy. The 35-voice a cappella choir from Salt Lake City, Utah, will be giving a recital in Worcester cathedral tomorrow from 10.30 until 11am.

There will also be an organ marathon in the Methodist Church, Pump Street, Worcester, tomorrow.

Between 10.30am and 4.30pm, a relay of organists will be playing non-stop to raise funds for the church organ fund.
