MALVERN Girls' College boarder Helen Parker, aged 13, has been chosen to take part in the National Scout and Guide Symphony Orchestra summer course.
She will be one of 60 young musicians taking part in the six-day course at a school in Reading next week.
Oboe-player Helen, who joined the Guides while living in Hong Kong, plays in the school's orchestra and its concert band. She also plays piano and recorder.
As a member of the course, Helen is set to play in a concert the orchestra will perform at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, next Saturday, August 3.
