MALVERN Victoria won a dramatic final at Ledbury Bowling Club's Annual Invitation Triples Tournament, sponsored by the Malvern Gazette & Ledbury Reporter.
The team of Albert Robbins, Neil Williams and Steve Aldridge came from two shots down to win 11-10 on the final end against a mixed team, which included Jack Gray from Eastnor.
It was the first time ladies had entered the competition and two were among the teams who contested the third place match, Val Pedlingham for Eastnor and Jan Williams for The Worthies, a team from Hereford.
Having reached this stage through a sudden death shoot-out, the Eastnor team of Peter Trigg, Mike Hoffman and Val Pedlingham won this match more comfortably 12-5.
It was a well-attended event and once again, despite the forecast, the rain held off for another year.
