A BROMSGROVE firm has launched a new safety device to protect vulnerable members of the community.
G4 Security, based in Sherwood Road, has spent £1.2m developing the Door Defender over the past seven years.
It aims to prevent intruders from forcing their way into homes and will be marketed around the world.
Acting like a chain lock, the Door Defender is attached to the door hinge, making it stronger and more flexible. It is particularly useful for elderly people, single women and handicapped people.
"It's the first product of its kind," said a spokesman for the company.
The firm is now gearing up to launch the product in DIY and hardware stores.
