AMBITIOUS James Ogilvie-Bull is hoping to not only take National One by storm this season but also nudge a few England selectors on the way.

The 23-year-old inside centre, brought to Sixways from Rugby Lions in the summer, could be one of the signings of the season if he realises his vast potential.

And the former Harlequins man is convinced his time has come to show the rugby world what he's made of.

"This season I obviously have to establish myself as a regular in the Worcester team first," he said. "You cannot run before you can walk! I don't want to be at Worcester playing the occasional game - I want to really push myself. Everyone wants to be first choice but I'm very determined to make my mark.

"I've also noticed that if you have a very good season at Worcester, people are rewarded with England A caps and international recognition. I've still got ambitions of putting on the Rose and playing for England. I'm not saying that this time next year I'll be an England regular but I want to have a good season and then people high above will start hearing good things about Bully."

Ogilvie-Bull looks set to go head to head with Gary Trueman for the number 12 shirt at Sixways this season with Ben Hinshelwood secure at 13. And the 16-stone big hitter is hoping to prove that size does indeed matter after all. I have the size advantage in certain respects," he added. "There are possibilities there but I cannot take that for granted and I must work on my game and make sure that I get there on professional merits. Everyone is desperate to succeed here at Worcester and competition for places is immense. I aim to prove myself, though, and make myself a regular in the side."
