A SUPERB solo effort from Jamie Edwards against Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday helped the youngster stake a claim for a place in the Worcester City squad.
The strike opened up a two goal lead for City in the pre-season friendly at St George's Lane, Adam Webster having opened the scoring, but late goals from Bo Henriksen and Andrew Corbett earned Harriers a 2-2 draw.
Manager John Barton had started the match with another trialist Michael Blackwood who played the first 45 minutes before being replaced by Edwards.
Blackwood, who has been on trial at Tranmere Rovers, will be in action for Notts County tonight but Barton remains determined to fill the left wing role.
"Edwards is a busy, tigerish enthusiastic player and with Blackwood as well, you can see why we want that type of player to play out wide on the left," he said.
Another trialist, former Walsall, Swansea and Exeter player John Hodge, who came on as a second half substitute, is due to have a run out at Willenhall Town tomorrow night.
