TIM Langford dismissed Stourport Swifts' 4-1 defeat to Boldmere St Michael as a fitness exercise.

Swifts manager used 20 players as he experimented with a number of systems including three up front.

Kerry Giddings scored Stourport's goal and he is set to feature in tonight's friendly against Stourbridge at Walshes Meadow (7.45).

Langford's side will also be in action in another home friendly against Rushall Olympic on Thursday (7.45).

Tony McClean grabbed a brace in Pershore Town's 4-1 victory against Unity Sports at the weekend as the Midland Combination outfit began their pre season preparations.

Simon Judge opened the scoring after 23 minutes before Simon Brain doubled the lead on the stroke of half time with a penalty.

Ex-Malvern Town player McClean made the game safe with strikes in the 46th and 48th minutes.

Pershore line up against last year's Midland Combination champions Grosvenor Park next Saturday.

"They will be more of a test," said club secretary Mike Pugh who says Pershore will be aiming for a top six finish in the new campogin.
