UPTON: A survey is being carried out to assess accessibility for disabled people at Upton-upon-Severn's Memorial Hall.
The listed building includes a public hall, kitchen and toilets on the ground floor, with the Town Council office on the first floor, up two flights of stairs.
The committee rooms and council chamber are on a higher level, up a further short flight.
A member of the National Register of Access Consultants is carrying out the survey to determine what alterations or modifications might be needed to comply with the Disability Discrimination Act.
The council, which owns and manages the building, will have to complete any necessary work by October, 2004, or at least show that the work is in hand.
