ONE of Britain's best-known auction houses is coming to the region to help the people of Herefordshire and Worcestershire to find out how much their antiques are really worth.
Sotheby's will be visiting Herefordshire next Sunday, August 4, to hold an Antiques and Antics fair in aid of the restoration of mediaeval paintings in Byford Church.
The fair, which starts at 10am, will take place at Garnons, six miles west of Hereford on the A438 Brecon Road.
The event is aimed at all the family, and will have more than 80 stalls, including a wheel of fortune, a children's play area, and the Hereford Big Band.
Sotheby's specialists will be conducting the valuations, and is welcoming anyone who believes they may have a valuable antique.
Entrance to the fair is £5 per car, and although Sotheby's valuations are normally free, on this occasion there will be a charge of £5 for three items, with all the profits going to Byford Church.
