Formula 1 fanatics are in for a treat on Sunday, August 11 at Donington Park when the European Minardi Formula 1 team stages Thunder in the Park 2 - a rare glimpse behind the scenes of the world's most glamorous sport.

The Shuttle/Times and News has joined forces with Donington Park to offer readers the chance to win one of 11 pairs of weekend passes to the event with two pairs to be won exclusively on this website.

Topping the bill, 1996 F1 World Champion Damon Hill will be among the top-class drivers demonstrating the Minardi two-seater (F1 x 2) Formula 1 outfit - an unmissable opportunity for fans who want to discover what it's like at the heart of one of the Formula 1 race teams on grand prix day.

The high speed demonstration, covering 12 laps from a grid start involving six of the Minardi F1 x 2 cars, will also be driven by European chairman Paul Stoddart and other invited drivers.

Fans of Formula 1 will have the chance to get up close and personal to all the stars and cars of the track, with the F1 x 2 cars and the European Minardi F1 car running laps and carrying out pitstop demonstrations throughout the day.

Other attractions will be commentary from the ITV motorsport team and stalwart Murray Walker; an autograph session and a two hour music concert to bring the day to a close.

And if that isn't enough, the British round of the Euro F3000 Championship will also be at Donington on Sunday, with the added attractions of the European Superkart Championship and the Formula Palmer Audi Championship, as well as face painting and a bouncy castle for the kids, making this a weekend packed with motorsport and family entertainment.
