DARREN Middleton marked his return to action with a goal as Worcester City beat Pegasus Juniors 4-2 to reach the semi-finals of the Worcestershire FA Senior Urn last night.
The key midfielder, out since November with a knee injury, came on for the last 30 minutes at St George's Lane and scored City's decisive fourth goal five minutes from time.
A hat-trick from Leon Jackson, playing to give himself more match practice, had put City in control before Pegasus pulled two goals back.
City's reserve team boss Geoff Ashby said: "He looked OK from what I can tell. He got a bit of a whack on his knee after he'd only been on for a couple of minutes but he carried on playing."
Fellow midfield man Ian Cottrill also played the full 90 minutes to continue his comeback from a knee problem, as did Jon Holloway who comes into contention for Saturday's game at Salisbury after completing a three-match ban.
Winger Dwaine McFarlane and goalkeeper Paul Wyatt also featured.
