A FLORAL extravaganza is bedecking Worcester Cathedral to celebrate The Queen's Golden Jubilee and the Three Choirs Fringe Festival.

From delicate posies in the Chapter House to magnificent pedestals in the nave, there have been colourful displays throughout the building, wowing the many visitors to one of the Faithful City's top attractions.

The Golden Jubilee Festival of Flowers and Shopping is the result of contributions from a great many people.

The arrangements have been set up by 30 different groups, including members of the Mothers' Union, Women's Institute, plus local florists and the Cathedral's Flower Guild.

"What more glorious way to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of our Queen than posies and pedestals bedecking our Cathedral?" said Canon Dr Alvyn Pettersen.

The festival takes place until Friday, August 2, from 9am until 5pm.
