MIDFIELDER Leon Jackson is doubtful for Worcester City's clash with Hednesford Town this weekend.
The 23-year-old had been hoping for a return to action after straining his medial ligament in the 4-0 win over Newport Isle of Wight on December 22 when their goalkeeper fell on his knee.
The injury has taken longer to respond to treatment than ex-pected and it has been a frustrating few weeks for the former Bilston Town player.
"I had just scored my first goal for Worcester and had my best game and was really enjoying it," said Jackson.
"I was just unlucky when the goalkeeper fell on my knee but I didn't think it was that bad because the knee didn't swell up too much.
"I was looking at a return for Saturday but it is looking doubtful at the moment and it still might be another week before it is ready but I can't wait to play again."
