WORCESTER City captain Carl Heeley has told the club's promising youngsters they need to be mentally tough to make it in non-league football.
Jamie Hyde, Marc Burrow, Dwaine McFarlane and Lee Goodman have all broken into the City squad at various points in the last couple of seasons and featured on a regular basis. But to become permanent fixtures in the team they need to display consistency according to Heeley, a veteran of more than 350 games for Worcester.
"They all have to work hard to sustain a level of consistency but they've all got a lot of potential," he said.
"I've always thought with younger players in general that they start really well then find it difficult to keep performance levels high.
"But that is what they have to do because the Dr Martens is a tough league, and week-in, week-out there are no easy games."
