BROMSGROVE rally pairing Nathan Crewe and Chris Clifford have recorded their best result of the season in the raceandrally.com 1400cc championship.
The duo finished second in the seventh stage of the championship - the Quinton Stages Rally, in Builth Wells, at the weekend.
The Cottrill Transport team ended 22 seconds behind the leaders but managed to set the same time as their victors in the final stage of the day.
On the longest stage of the day, Crewe and Clifford also set a fastest stage time in their MG ZR. They were able to make up some of the 30 seconds lost earlier in the day and climb up the leader board from sixth to second.
But the performance underlined the continued improvement of the Royal Racing backed pair, as they get to grips with their MG ZR 1400 and begin to overcome the problems experienced earlier in the season.
Next up for the crew is the Woodpecker rally in Ludlow at the end of August.
