PLAYING at Worcestershire's famous New Road headquarters was the reward for district kwik cricket champions Burlish Middle School.
After beating a strong Comberton team in the Wyre Forest final, Burlish enjoyed a fine day at the county contest in Worcester.
The Stourport school's youngsters recorded a win and a draw but eventually lost to St Bede's of Redditch in the semi-final by seven runs.
Liam Nock was one of the stars of the district tournament, while Daniel Hanks will long remember taking a hat-trick of wickets at New Road.
Burlish PE teacher Martyn West said: "It was a brilliant day and a great experience for them to play there."
Some of the youngsters are playing at local clubs Stourport and Victoria and Blakeley Hall.
