BRUSH up on what's been happening in the last six months in depths of the mac visual arts studios.

People of all ages and abilities have been beavering away at the Birmingham venue for the biennial mac student show.

Students from more than 40 classes and studio pass-holders, working in their own time, have produced items for exhibition.

These include tapestry, embroidery, batik, pottery, painting, jewellery, sculpture, masks and prints.

On show in mac's Cotton Gallery, there are also a number of pieces for sale - and they're already selling.

Ideal for lovers of good art and for anyone planning on joining a mac course next term.

The exhibition runs until September 1, opening Tuesday to Sunday, noon until 8pm.
