AN Evesham man will take to the waves next month to raise money for charity.
Jeremy Street, aged 38, from Larkspur Drive, will be taking part in the Youth for Christ/Trailblazers challenge, which will see two yachts sailing around the Fastnet Rock off the coast of Ireland.
Jeremy, who is a specialist transport engineer, will be helping to raise money to fund community projects in Britain and further afield, when he sets off on one of the former 67-foot BT Global Challenge yachts from Southampton on Saturday, September 14. He is due to return a week later.
He is an experienced sailor, having qualified as a day skipper in the Royal Yachting Association, but is still looking forward to the challenge.
He said: "I've done years of sailing and probably spent the equivalent of about two or three weeks on a yacht but I've never sailed for this length of time without stopping before.
"It will be the biggest challenge I have ever done and really exciting to spend 24 hours a day sailing."
If you would like to sponsor Jeremy, contact him on 01386 423075.
