GRAEME Hick admits he would be surprised to receive an England Test call-up but still hopes to be part of the World Cup side.

The Worcestershire skipper gave his views on his international future shortly before play was abandoned for the day against India at New Road yesterday.

He said: "I'd be very surprised if I was recalled for the Test side. I'd be delighted, but I'd be surprised. I didn't play last year at all, so I'm not expecting it.

"I still love playing and I have outside hopes of making the side for the next World Cup. I don't put out of my mind that I could still play Test cricket.

"I still have a hope, but at the moment I'll concentrate on one-day cricket and what cricket I've got left here. If I perform well all I can do is try to put my name in the hat.

"There are parts of my career I have really enjoyed and I've been proud of some of the things I have done, but there are other parts that didn't go as well as I would have liked. But if I was asked to ride the road again I'd be delighted to go through it again."
